What We Do

The Communications Committee is responsible for maintaining an information connection with Fernbank  residents and the Board and committees who serve their members.  This includes topics such as current events, meetings and neighborhood improvements.


Communications sources are delivered by both print and electronic media, including the FUOA web site, newsletters, notices and special mailings. Special projects, such as the Fernbank Directory, an Association database, and Annual Association Meeting information are created and/or maintained by the committee.


As more and more FUOA members are able to access the web, and because it is feasible to keep information more current online, the committee expects to rely more heavily on the FUOA web site as an outlet for future member communication. Members are encouraged to bookmark the site at and use the web page to inform themselves regularly concerning community matters.


We also encourage our members to assist the Communications Committee by suggesting articles and topics of interest for the newsletter and the web page.  We ask that you let us know of  your suggestions for improving membership communication. Interested in getting involved?  Why not volunteer to work on the committee? Finally, while most residents regularly use digital communications, there are still some residents without e-mail addresses.  Or, perhaps you just prefer snail-mail.  If so, please let us know.

How Can You Help?


The scope and areas of responsibility of the Communications Committee include:


  • Maintain a database of owner/renter contact information.    


  • Organize and coordinate publicity and outreach. 


  • Maintain and update FUOA web site.  


  • Support and oversee communication with the general public and Realtors. 


  • Distribute approved Minutes of monthly Executive Board meetings. 


  • Distribute community alerts approved by the Board such as utility disruptions and weather alerts. 


  • Create and distribute quarterly newsletters.    
  • Facilitate communications for all FUOA Committees Chairs.  
  • Prepare and distribute documents for the Annual Meeting.  
  • Create and distribute the FUOA Community Directory.
